The Town of Coaldale is seeking a Pool Manager for the outdoor pool over the summer season. Reporting to the Community Services Coordinator, the Pool Manager oversees the overall operations and maintenance of the pool, supervision of staff, and performs daily opening and closing procedures.

Term: March 2025-August 2025

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Train staff in the operations of cleaning, water chemistry & proper cash handling procedures
- Learn computer software for entering swim lesson requests, setting up accounts, managing swim passes and train pool staff on these procedures
- Complete and maintain daily records and weekly reports and other paperwork as required
- Schedule lifeguard shifts and swimming lessons
- Supervise cashier operations & handle deposits
- Ensure that the public is handled effectively and with consideration using good public relations skills
- Ensure all pool operations are conducted in a safe manner
- Maintain persistent surveillance of patrons in the facility and act immediately and appropriately in the event of an emergency
- Ensure overall appearance and cleanliness of entire facility is maintained at all times
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, customer service, and excellent interpersonal skills and ensure pool staff follow example set
- Perform other duties as required, including various maintenance duties, janitorial/cleaning requirements, and other miscellaneous job-related duties when not guarding

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 18 years of age or older, plus two years (or seasons) experience as a lifeguard.
- Supervisor skills & experience.
- Current Standard First Aid/ CPR/ AED training, NLS, and WSI.
- Criminal record check with the vulnerable sector.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work with children and youth.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively and provide clear instructions.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond to inquiries and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond to emergencies and incidents quickly and effectively.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
