**Job Description**:
AECOM is looking for **Mechanical Technician** to join the Buildings + Places group to be based in Edmonton, AB.

**Job Summary**:
You will be working with a team of engineers, EIT’s, CAD/BIM technicians, technologists, and project managers will deliver high-quality and important buildings in the B+P sector. Here you will also have an opportunity to collaborate on multidisciplinary teams including architects and structural, electrical, and civil engineers.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Designing and drafting of plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems

Construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI response, construction inspection, and respond to client questions

Preparation of deliverables and products such as load calculations, specifications, and cost estimates related to HVAC, plumbing, and fire

protection systems for commercial, institutional and light industrial facilities

Coordinating with the design of other disciplines

Performing field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents

Performing drafting assignments utilizing CAD or 3d modeling software; preparation of plans, sections, elevations, details, and construction documents for review and approval

Participating in the Quality Review process with the responsible Engineer and Lead Verifier

Assisting with working within a project team environment and possess good communication skills

**Qualifications**:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology plus four (4) years of relevant experience in contract administration (CA) during construction, with relevant experience in light industrial, transportation structures, and/or water/wastewater treatment HVAC design.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology and 8 - 10 years of experience in contract administration (CA) during construction, with relevant experience in light industrial, transportation structures, and/or water/wastewater treatment HVAC design, preferred

Experience doing building condition assessments

Experience using AutoCAD and Revit

Experience in multi-disciplinary projects as related to buildings and infrastructure market segments

Ability to read multi-disciplinary plans

Familiarity with applicable provincial & National Building Code/Energy Code/Plumbing Code/Fire Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and SMACNA

Experience with following and implementing Client CAD/BIM Standards

Experience in using Navisworks and BIM 360 for Model and clash coordination

Experience with Carrier’s HAP and Daikin “Ductsizer” programs

Experience with energy modeling software such as Trane “TRACE 700”, “eQuest” and “DOE-2” is considered an asset.

Experience using Microsoft Office tool
