Class 1 Driver

Based out of our Saskatoon Plant, we are hiring a full-time Class 1 Driver to be a part of our team. The Class 1 Driver - Grease is responsible for safely operating company vehicles while following instructions or scheduled routes from the Fleet Dispatcher and Fleet Superintendent. The role requires the delivery of exceptional customer service when servicing used cooking oil customers. Often viewed as the face of the company, drivers are expected to act professionally both on the road and at locations of service when dealing with customers and the public. This is a full-time, permanent position for 40 hours per week. WHY JOIN OUR TEAM? - Build a stable career at a reputable company with more than 450 employees - Continuous in-house training opportunities available - all our new drivers are provided hydraulic equipment training during onboarding - Comprehensive compensation package offered to full-time employees including employer-paid extended health benefits - Generous RRSP matching for employee contributions after 1 year SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Drive scheduled routes based on instructions from the Fleet Dispatcher and/or Fleet Superintendent to collect used cooking oil material at customer’s locations - Pick up used cooking oil from bins, barrels, frontline, and other customer bulk cooking oil tanks - Empty grease trucks as required - Maintain tools and equipment (hoses, grease tools, wands, extensions, etc.), and spill response kits - Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections - Report issues or concerns related to vehicle maintenance, damaged containers and/or equipment or Customer to the Fleet Maintenance / Dispatcher in a timely manner - Ensure site is clean prior to and after departure when collecting used cooking oil - Observe, inspect, and monitor grease bins for leaks or other damages - Report damaged or unclean grease bins to Fleet Dispatcher immediately - Operate all equipment safely and efficiently - Follow safety protocols and other procedures as dictated by WCRL or the customer’s requirements - Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands - Work overtime as instructed to ensure mínimal downtime of facilities - Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies - Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values - Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Possession of a valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract - Knowledge and/or experience with vacuum truck pumps an asset - 3 years of experience in commercial truck driving or similar environment an asset - Strong knowledge of surrounding areas - Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills Functional Requirements - Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment, such as grease bins, lids, and barrels, up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance - Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily - Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and animal by-products INTERESTED CANDIDATES ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT THEIR RESUME BY CLICKING THE "APPLY NOW" BUTTON BELOW.
