**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Housing Services this position is responsible for ensuring the effective development and delivery of new assisted and supportive housing units in support of the 10-year Comprehensive Housing Strategy (CHS). In addition, this position will serve as member of Halton Region’s Assisted and Supportive Housing Concierge by meeting with private, not-for profit and cooperative housing developers and support agencies to seek out potential new assisted and supportive housing partnerships throughout Halton Region.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Engage Regional staff, community stakeholders, municipal, provincial and federal government partners to deliver new assisted and supportive housing units.
- Represent the Region in the community to promote new assisted and supportive housing, develop relationships with community partners and provide capacity building support to developers and non-profits in support the Region’s CHS goals.
- Conducts comprehensive needs assessments to support Regional assisted and supportive housing objectives; gathers and analyzes data from multiple sources to bring forward professionally researched policy/program recommendations.
- Develop implementation and financing plans for incorporating new assistive and supportive housing components within new developments.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements between stakeholders and the Region.
- Maintains close knowledge of and works collaboratively to investigate and capitalize on funding opportunities from other levels of government, including CMHC and MMAH.
- Create financial models to analyze development options.
- Prepares Requests for Expression of Interest (REOI) as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Planning, Human Services or Social Services.
- Exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, superior customer service, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and collaboration skills for interaction with Senior Management, public officials, agencies and the public.
- Excellent abilities in program delivery, project management, problem solving, decision making and team leadership.
- Expertise in financial management and creation of financial models.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- At least three to five (3-5) years of experience in a policy, program development, project management and/or program evaluation role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of affordable housing issues and priorities, the Comprehensive Housing Strategy and social housing policy and framework, as well as direct experience maintaining strong internal and external partnerships and represents the Region in public forums, including regular engagement with senior provincial and federal housing staff.
