**Position Title**: Receptionist
- Reports to Executive Director_
**Location**: 7112 Vedder Road, Chilliwack, BC (on-site)
**Job Status**: Permanent full-time (37.5 hours weekly), plus occasional flexibility for work on weekends for special events when necessary

Chilliwack Hospice Society is a community-based organization that helps individuals and families dealing with dying and death through support, education, and programs that promote wellness and healthy grieving.
Hospice is a philosophy of holistic care providing comfort care to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of dying people and their families. Hospice care is all about treating terminally ill people as living human beings so they can live until their last moment with caring and respect.
Chilliwack Hospice has been in operation since 1986 and is a registered non-profit charitable society. The Hospice Society is a partner in delivering the services of the Chilliwack Hospice Palliative Care Program.

**Education and Experience**
High school graduation required; post-secondary education or courses an asset. History of volunteerism an asset.

**What is the Role**
- Greeting visitors and clients who come into the office
- Answering phone calls
- Photocopying, word-processing, and proofing as required
- Assemble training documentation
- Setting up meeting rooms
- Tidying and light housekeeping
- Booking appointments
- Entering information in the database
- Other duties as assigned
**What You Bring**
- Excellent verbal and written English communication and listening skills, and the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels
- Comfortable answering incoming phone calls and transferring to appropriate staff member
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and determining priorities
- Strong attention to detail (specifically with Excel, project timelines, and database management)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft programs
- Ability to be a collaborative team player and establish and maintain positive working relationships, both internally and externally
- High degree of discretion, initiative, resourcefulness, and thoughtfulness in the decision-making process
- Experience working with volunteers an asset
**Recruitment Process**
