Summerhill Market is a boutique grocery store chain in Toronto that specializes in scratch-made prepared foods and on-trend ingredients. Our stores go above and beyond a typical grocery store by offering an extensive rotating selection of ready to eat gourmet meals, freshly baked goodies, and curated hard to find groceries.

Summerhill Market is looking for a Part Time Weekend/Holiday Baker to prepare our baked goods from frozen and to keep store shelves stocked while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

In this role, you will be scheduled for up to 20 hours each week, for a variety of shifts Monday-Friday and weekends. This role starts at 4am and is based out of our Sherwood location (1054 Mt. Pleasant Road, Toronto).

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Baking off pastries and breads* with some finishing *(all from frozen, not from scratch)
- Providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers in locating items and educating customers on products
- Placing orders as per business needs and inventory levels
- Loading and unloading of supplies and orders as needed
- Cleaning and maintaining the main floor and basement baker areas
- Reporting any issues with the stock levels, product quality or customer issues to your store manager
- Stocking goods from the basement storage area to the main floor
- Maintaining Health and Safety Standards as defined under the Health and Safety Act
- Any other reasonable tasks as assigned

Skillset requirements:

- A knowledge and passion for customer service a must
- Previous experience as a baker an asset
- Able to work under pressure and tight timelines
- Able to work early mornings and holidays
- Able to handle physical work, lifting and carrying up to 40lbs
- Food Handlers Certificate an asset
- WHMIS training an asset
