Junior/ Intermediate Cadd or Gis Operator

GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled **Junior/ Intermediate CADD or GIS Operator **to join our Team. We currently have an opening for a full-time **Junior/ Intermediate CADD or GIS Operator **in our **Ottawa, Oshawa**, **Mississauga**, or **Barrie** offices.
The position provides ongoing support for the creation of figures, drawings, maps, spatial analysis, and assistance consolidating spatial data to support the efficient and strategic management and dissemination of geographic information for planning and operational decision-making.
**Educational & Experience Requirements**:
- Post-secondary diploma in CAD or GIS.
- Interpreting and utilizing survey data.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a demanding environment.
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, ArcPy, SQL, R, etc. would be considered an asset.
- Experience in field surveying techniques.
- Experience working with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).
- Geotechnical and/or environmental experience is considered a strong asset for this position.
**Main Duties**:
- Provide drafting support for geotechnical, hydrogeological and environmental projects.
- Providing quality assurance for CAD deliverables.
- Collect, manage, organize and illustrate geospatial datasets using GIS platforms (ESRI ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Collector, ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS Survey123.
- Preparing, converting and exporting spatial datasets in various file formats.
- Production of promotional materials using GIS platforms.
- Create and update plans, sections and schematics using AutoCAD.
- Preparation of borehole and monitoring well logs using gINT and other software.
- Participate and lead possibly internal training on geospatial data acquisition, management and presentation.
- Other duties as required.
**Position**:
- Full time salaried position.

- Must have a valid driver’s license.
