**The Opportunity**
Are you a compassionate leader with a passion for resident-focused care? Under the guidance of the Director of Care or Executive Director, the Resident Care Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care to residents. This role combines leadership, clinical expertise, and strategic thinking to ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centered care in alignment with AgeCare’s mission, values, and standards of excellence.
**What You Will Do**
- The RCM will champion resident satisfaction and lead quality improvement initiatives.
- Support nursing staff in developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of nursing staff.
- Oversee scheduling and ensure smooth operations in the absence of department heads.
- Resolve care-related issues with residents, families, and advocates.
- Foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to resident care.
- The RCM will act as a clinical role model and mentor to nursing staff.
- Deliver ongoing education and development for care teams.
- Utilize MDS and Care Management systems effectively.
- Ensure site-wide oversight in the absence of senior management.
- Promote a culture of ethics, dignity, trust, and respect for all.
**What You Bring**
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or long-term care.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current unrestricted license (or eligible for BCCNM registration).
- Skilled in managing unionized teams and navigating complex care environments.
- Strong background in quality improvement, risk management, and person-centered care.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with BC health legislation, standards, and care regulations.
