**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Thompson Rivers University is seeking a sessional faculty member who will teach one or two sections of EDUC5990: Special Topics in Education.
**Calendar Description**: Special topics courses are offered on a temporary basis and are not part of the regular course offerings. This course** **utilizes the special expertise of a faculty member or a visiting professor to go beyond the usual curriculum and enrich** **the program of study. Contact the program advisor for information on current offerings.
**Course Description**: Neuroscience in Secondary Education
QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS *
- PhD or EdD is required, ABD will be considered.
- A minimum of one (1) degree in education is required.
- Expertise in K-12 education is required.
- Three (3) years of full time or equivalent hours teaching in K-12 settings is required.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills required.
- Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62) required.
- Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) required.
Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10) required.
