**Oak Hill Ranch** is an accredited campus-based treatment facility with a designation in Intensive Treatment. With the support of Children and Family services, family and other healthy support networks, we strive to create a therapeutic environment that assists in the young person’s growth and development. We offer services to youth between the ages of 9-16 years of age who present various behavioral and emotional challenges. Oak Hill Ranch is located ½ mile south of the town of Bon Accord (20 min. N of Edmonton).

**Schedule**:
Awake Night Child and Youth Care Workers work on a rotational schedule of 4 nights on (9:00pm-7:00am) and 4 days off.

**Salary**: $54, 000-$57, 000 per year

**Qualifications Required**:

- Diploma/Degree in Human Services, preference given to Child and Youth Care and Social Work disciplines.
- Minimum one year experience working with high-risk youth in out-of-home placements.
- Valid driver’s license.

**Key Responsibilities**: *NOTE* This is not a comprehensive list of the job description, but an overall understanding of the position of Overnight Awake Child and Youth Care Worker.
- Ensure safety of the overall ranch during overnight hours, conducting a physical search of the property.
- Observes, assesses and documents significant behaviors emitted by young people in activity logs and reports.
- In the event of a young person leaving without permission, appropriate notifications are made.
- Teaches and assists young people in acquiring skills relating to daily life skills. Wake and put young people to bed in a manner appropriate to the special needs of clients, and assisting them in handling related difficulties and anxieties.
- Dispenses medication according to prescribed procedures and document as such on medication chart.
- Advocates and actively builds trust and rapport with young people through conversation, and personal interactions.
- Intervenes in crisis situations with non-abusive restraint practices as necessary.
- Maintains a therapeutic approach to behavior management and explains behavioral expectations and consequences to young person.

**Qualifications as an asset**:

- Standard 1st Aid (level C), ASIST Suicide Certificate(s) are an asset; however, courses are offered after commencement of employment.

Pay: $54,000.00-$57,000.00 per year
