Your Opportunity:
Description:
As a Maintenance Worker IV, you will perform a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair work requiring considerable initiative and judgment in determining the appropriate work methods consistent with standards, regulations and procedures. You will utilize your supervisory and/or maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance and repair duties on specialized equipment and building control systems, and to provide leadership and direction to other maintenance staff in order to meet operational requirements. In addition, you will perform specialized machine repairs, as well as the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment. You may be responsible to resolve escalated operational issues; act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues; participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff; assisting the design and implementation of preventative maintenance programs; estimate project costs; and liaise with outside agencies and contractors.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Minimum ABSA 5th Class Power Engineer certificate is required for this position. This position requires Class 5 Alberta driver’s license to operate AHS vehicles and equipment. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is required with at least three years' experience in plant operations and maintenance. Basic computer skills in Windows operating environment is a requirement. Ability to work under pressure and effectively troubleshoot and solve operational problems. Demonstrated ability to work well with others as well as independently. Strong commitment to client satisfaction and to promote teamwork and partnerships. On call coverage will require employee to be available within acceptable response time to facility issues (20 minutes).

**Preferred Qualifications**:
HVAC specific training and/or experience with ability to operate and troubleshoot systems (ventilation, hydronics, boilers, refrigeration, etc.). Experience with computerized building control systems. Ability to read and interpret building drawings and schematics (e.g. architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, civil, etc.). Experience in operations and maintenance in a health care related facility is desired.
