Junior Buyer

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include**:

- Purchasing of production commodities, shop, maintenance, office and safety

supplies.
- Issuing, registering and follow-ups on issued purchase orders and requested RFQ’s.
- Maintaining approved vendors list
- Conducting and maintaining inventory for production, shop, maintenance, office and safety supplies.
- Participate in assessment and approval of new suppliers.
- Participate in testing and approval of new product.
- Ensure suppliers provide WHMIS documentation MSDS’s
- Control Production/Maintenance inventory stores carousels and powder coating inventory carousels.
- Administer and maintain inventory management systems.
- Identify and escalate procurement process issues Lead / Manger
- Make recommendations for material purchases and vendors

**Education/Skills/Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Excellent command of the English language, well organized and good communicator.
- Working knowledge of MS Windows suite (predominantly Excel) & the Syspro ERP System.
- Fundamental knowledge of the supply market and previous purchasing experience.

**Essential Skills**
- Procurement work experience, RFQ/PO creation
- Communication to vendors and management both verbal and written.
- Able to work as a team or independently.
- Pleasant telephone manner
- Problem solving
- Inventory Control processes.

**Health & Safety Requirements**
- Good knowledge of all safety rules, policies and regulations as required by the workplace and legislation.
- Maintain good house keeping standards within the facility.
- Respond to any workplace hazards identified by the JHSC.
- Report all know hazards that you are aware of to JHSC or Plant Manager
- Report all accidents that result in injuries, immediately to your JHSC, First aid member or your immediate supervisor.

- PPE (safety glasses)
- Exposure to accidental dropping or rolling of parts. PPE (CSA approved safety boots)

- Visiting of other facilities may have hazards, should be aware of these hazards before entering facility.

**Physical Requirements**
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, twisting and bending.
- Travel in company vehicle for the purpose of company business.
- Prolong standing.
- Lifting.

**Salary**: From $45,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

- Scarborough, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- purchasing: 3 years (preferred)
