Job Posting: Dump Truck Driver - Class 1

Purpose of Position:
As a Dump Truck Driver with a Class 1 Licence, you will work primarily within the Cowichan Valley Region. You will work closely with other drivers, equipment operators and with ground crew to accomplish the site preparation as required and directed by the site Supervisor.

Accountability:
As with all careers in construction, safety is the top priority. Site safety protocols must always be adhered to for your own safety, and the safety of your team.

Employee must provide their own basic personal protective equipment: hard hat, rain gear, steel toe boots, high visibility vest and personal protective mask.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Participate in safety meetings & hazard assessments
- Safely & Skillfully operate a Dump Truck with a Pup attachment
- Have the experience to connect heavy duty trailers to dump truck, load equipment and haul to work sites
- Work around underground electrical/power, water and gas utilities
- Inspecting, cleaning, lubricating and refilling equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Operate a variety of trucks and construction equipment, as authorized
- Work as part of the team under strict deadlines
- Expected to operate under a variety of extreme weather conditions
- Maintain licencing and certifications on all vehicles
- Wear safety gear at all times
- Perform daily safety checks and attend all safety meetings
- Understanding of job site safety procedures
- Complete all required daily tickets and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
- Ability to lift 50lbs regularly throughout the day
- Effective verbal communication and customer service skills
- Adhere to company Health & Safety Manual, and Policies

Qualification and Education Requirements:

- Reliable, hardworking team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively
- 2+ years of experience driving Dump Truck with Pup attachment
- WHMIS, Fall Protection, OFA Certification, considered an asset
- Must be physically fit and able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
- Class 1, with clean abstract required

Pay Rate dependent on experience.
