Cash and Carry Operations Manager

The **Cash and Carry Operations Manager** is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the wholesale warehouse and retail floor. This includes managing staff, ensuring accurate inventory control, maintaining operational efficiency, optimizing sales, and safeguarding company assets. The manager will coordinate between departments — receiving, sales, accounting, logistics, and customer service — to ensure smooth operations and profitability.
**Key Responsibilities:1. Operations Management**
- Oversee daily operations including receiving, stocking, sales, and cashier activities.
- Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Schedule and supervise staff shifts, ensuring proper coverage across departments.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the facility.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and local health standards.
**2. Inventory Control & Purchasing**
- Monitor inventory levels, track fast
- and slow-moving items, and coordinate reordering with suppliers.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies or shrinkage issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to forecast demand and negotiate supplier terms.
- Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) procedures and oversee product storage to minimize waste.
**3. Sales & Customer Service**
- Ensure excellent customer service and address customer complaints or issues effectively.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and underperforming categories.
- Work with management to plan promotions, bulk discounts, and seasonal product strategies.
- Support large or corporate customers (B2B) with customized orders and account coordination.
**4. Financial Oversight**
- Reconcile daily sales, cash, and deposit reports in coordination with the accounting team.
- Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
- Monitor operating expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for ownership.
**5. Staff Leadership & Training**
- Hire, train, and supervise staff across departments (cashiers, warehouse, floor, and delivery).
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and address issues proactively.
- Build a positive and productive team environment focused on accountability and customer satisfaction.
- Implement loss prevention training and enforce policies consistently.
**6. Loss Prevention & Security**
- Oversee CCTV, access control, and audit systems to minimize theft and loss.
- Conduct random spot checks of inventory, cash drawers, and employee areas.
- Collaborate with security personnel to investigate and prevent shrinkage or fraud.
**Key Skills & Qualifications**
- Minimum **5+ years of retail or wholesale management experience**, preferably in food, grocery, or bulk goods.
- Strong knowledge of **inventory control systems**, purchasing, and warehouse logistics.
- Experience managing **staff of 10-30+ employees**.
- Proficient in **POS systems**, **Microsoft Excel**, and **inventory management software**.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Financial acumen with understanding of **P&L, cash flow, and cost control**.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
