**Company Overview**
Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is looking for a **Purchasing Agent** who will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services to meet the organization’s operational needs. This role ensures timely delivery of quality products at competitive prices while maintaining compliance with company policies and supplier agreements. The Purchasing Agent works closely with vendors, internal departments, and logistics teams to manage inventory levels, track orders, and resolve any supply chain issues. On the job training is provided.
**The Location**: Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position is based in Dowling Ontario Canada**.**
**Responsibilities**
- Manage procurement activities including sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials and services.
- Place and manage purchase orders to maintain optimal inventory levels and support turnover goals.
- Analyze inventory requirements based on sales trends and current stock levels.
- Negotiate pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and timely fulfillment.
- Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers, requesting quotes and product information to identify the best sourcing options.
- Prepare and analyze reports to track vendor performance and category spending for IMS.
- Develop and distribute departmental communications regarding purchasing requirements and updates.
- Identify, research, and resolve issues related to purchasing processes and supplier performance.
- Monitor and report on cost-saving initiatives and process improvement efforts.
- Implement procurement strategies and procedures in alignment with corporate guidelines.
- Review and process purchase requisitions, order adjustments, and check-enclosed requisitions.
- Verify and input accurate vendor data into procurement systems.
- Source information from potential suppliers and build relationships based on product and business needs.
- Ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions upon delivery of goods.
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date database of all orders for analysis and reporting purposes.
- **Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or technology environment.
- College diploma in a related business field an asset.
- Three (3) years’ experience in a similar purchasing role.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $41,400.38-$72,859.45 per year
