**Position Title: Restorative Treatment for Survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation**
**Education**:Bachelor’s Degree in related studies preferred, Child and Youth Counsellor diploma or equivalent combination of comparable experience and education.**
**Location: Ottawa, Ontario**
**Employment Type: Part time/Casual/Call in and overnight shift work**
**Working Relationships: Executive Director, Residents of the home, Program Supervisor, Clinical Social Worker, full and part time staff, and Community Service Partners**
**Position Summary**: The Treatment Support Worker is responsible for working directly with youth and young adults, specializing in sexually exploited and trafficked young women, ages 16-26+. The Treatment Support Worker is responsible for providing therapeutic support, life skills development and advocacy services; serves not only as Treatment Support Worker, but as advocate, counselor, and support system for young women in crisis. The Treatment Support Worker is an essential part of the Residential Team and the overall A NEW DAY Community.
**Tasks and Responsibilities**:
This statement of duties is for purpose of identifying this position, but it is not limited to:
**Key Duties**:
- Responsible for providing holistic and comprehensive trauma-informed support for A NEW DAY program residents.
- Build transformational relationships with traumatized and disenfranchised young women ages 16-26.
- Ensure safety and security of residents and promote confidentiality.
- Facilitate in house support groups as needed.
- In collaboration with Program Supervisor and Case Manager, aid residents with the following programming; financial literacy, vocational & educational training, food preparation, budgeting, menu planning, grocery shopping, household management, sleep hygiene, community appointments, medication monitoring and compliance.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, Program Supervisor, Case Manager, Clinical Social Worker, coordinate physical and mental health intake and assessment of each program resident to ensure all needs are being met and treatment service delivery is followed through accordingly.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director/Program Supervisor/Case Manager complete referral assessments and communicate with referral sources as needed.
- Coordinate referrals to school, medical, dental, psychological services, job placement, and others, depending on the need of each resident
- Set and contribute to a safe, dignified, orderly atmosphere by enforcing program policies and procedures.
- Serve as a role model
- guiding and empowering residents and facilitating appropriate behavior around daily living skills, self-care, personal interaction, social relationships and constructive time management.
- Develop individualized goal plans, including discharge and safety planning and support the realization of residents individualized goal plans through monthly ISPs.
- Conduct family re-integration and court support and advocacy as needed.
- Accompany residents on community appointments as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining thorough and accurate records, case files, required forms/consents/expense reports, check requests, correspondence, and MCCSS reporting summaries; complete necessary documentation in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
- Participate in main office events, staff training, weekly A NEW DAY team meetings, and collaboration with all A NEW DAY staff and members.
- Respond to crisis as needed and respond appropriately to emergencies including contacting appropriate staff, being available on weekends and evenings for crisis intervention
- Maintain relationships, collaborations and linkages with community service partners and other related community supports identified and/or approved by the Executive Director and make referrals as needed.

**Additional Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study with equivalent clinical and professional experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with mental health related issues, complex trauma, substance abuse, court involved youth and young adults, domestic violence, direct experience in the community social services sector with a working knowledge of community-based treatment and intervention f youth and young adults involved in human trafficking sexual exploitation
- Vast knowledge of youth and adult community services in Ottawa, including housing,
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate small groups and workshops.
- Current First Aid, level 1, Mental Health First Aid and Non-violent Crisis Intervention training
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Have access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance
- Bilingual in English and French, oral and written
