Junior Mold Setter

Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Junior Mold Setter at our 591 Arvin facility.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure:
Reporting to the Mold Maintenance Manager, the Junior Mold Setter is responsible for mold changes, machine troubleshooting and repair. They will be responsible for, adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System and practicing continuous improvement wherever possible.

**Responsibilities**:

- On a three shift rotation, Perform mold changes based on schedule and prepare/setup the machine for production. Ensure the work environment is safe to perform the mold change and communication to all impacted employees is clear.
- Ability to learn to operate a 40 Ton overhead crane
- Understand and follow Standardized work instructions
- Provide input into efficiency improvements regarding Mold changes
- Assist maintenance technician/electrician with machine maintenance including mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
- Assist mold maker with injection mold tool troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
- Support the production team priorities of Safety, Quality and Delivery.
- Assist in monitoring process conditions to ensure they are in control.
- Assist in trials on new programs
- Assist in trials on new technology
- Perform duties as assigned from time to time by Supervisor.

Qualifications:
**Education Required**

Grade 12 at minimum. Applicable Post-Secondary schooling or trade an asset, not required.

**Skills Required**:
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

Demonstrated experience with various hand tools

Ability to support significant physical demands of assignment

**Equivalent Experience**

Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
