Fuel Operations Supervisor

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and schedule the rotation of company units throughout the assigned areas, as business volume requires
- Ongoing review of routes for corporate units to improve efficiency and utilization
- Assist in Scheduling shifts with the ops team to ensure customers obtain superior service while adhering to Hours-of-Service legislation
- Respond to enquiries/requests from operations team concerning such areas data entry, fuel controls, collections, and operations/compliance
- Provide technical and mechanical repair and assistance while on duty, and day-to-day problem solving and emergency response
- Assist in servicing existing or new clients as required and liaise with operations staff and Driver team to improve client service and route efficiency
- Assist and coordinate with ops team the maintenance of the trucks as per the company’s PM Program to minimize vehicle breakdowns and keep repair costs to a minimum, without compromising customer service standards
- Conduct surprise driver assessments on a scheduled and unannounced basis to ensure drivers are working in accordance with internal, provincial, and federal safety standards and regulations
- Supervise staff including evaluations, coaching, and progressive discipline
- Recommend any required changes in operating procedures to the Operations Manager
- Act as the primary operations contact for customers, you will approve delivery within the area of accountability and assign the delivery personnel. Interact with customers regarding service issues and rectify in a timely manner.
- Assists in training, and managing drivers in addition to providing leadership and guidance to all drivers
- Handles any required disciplinary action of drivers after discussion with the Operations Manager
- Ensures safe operation and procedures are adhered to by overseeing all driver operations
- Assists in managing and tracking Hours of Service regulatory compliance and ensures driver certifications are current. Provides re-certification materials and testing as needed
- Manage, coordinate, and report all emergency situations by determining nature of the incident, ensuring the safety and security of the truck and load, contacting emergency services with ops team.
- Primary operations contact for customers approved for delivery within the area of accountability
- Deliver fuel to clients using a tanker truck as required and or stepping in for drivers that are unavailable, sick or on vacation and be able to cover weekends.

**Job Requirements/Qualifications**:

- Proven track record of strong leadership and engagement skills is a must
- Minimum 2-5 years’ management and/or supervisory experience
- Experience providing superb customer service preferably in the transportation and distribution industry
- Must hold a valid and clean Class DZ license with Air Endorsement
- Must have minimum 2-5 years fuel delivery experience
- Routing experience and managing a driving workforce is considered an asset
- Responsible for training and performance management of employees
- Understanding of fleet operations and customer delivery
- Coaches and develops others as required
- Willing to work extended and flexible hours including weekends & holidays
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- To succeed in this role you must have great attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure
- Must have a safety and compliance mind set

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
