Little Sprouts Christian Preschool seeks to grow its team of educators. We are currently looking for individuals with Responsible Adult (RA), Early Childhood Educational Assistant (ECEA), and/or Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certifications. We also ask that all applicants have their first aid certification and a clear CRC and be willing to provide references. Applicants must also be willing to provide a pastoral reference indicating their involvement in their church and a testament to their faith. Please see a brief job description of an ECE below:
**Primary Responsibilities**:
Being present with the children
Assist children with tasks
Assist in classroom management and dealing with behaviours
Redirecting when necessary
Circle time
Sitting with children
Assisting with toileting, eating, and resting times.
Collaborate with the Program Director and other teachers
Adhering to Licensing policies
Positive Child Guidance
Ensure their certifications are up to date
Pursue professional development opportunities
Assist with monthly Fire drills and quarterly Earthquake drills
**Communication**:
Communicating with families at pick up and drop off.
Communicating with the Program Director any necessary information about children and/or their families
Recording all information that staff need to know in the communications binder.
Including any and/or all incidents that must be communicated to families.
Check the communication binder at the start of the shift.
**Secondary Responsibilities**:
Assist in the daily operation of the preschool, which includes:
Assist in performing a safety check
Water and Playground
Assist with classroom cleaning.
Assist in managing supplies and inventory
Assist in ensuring that the property is well-maintained.
Assist with daily attendance.
Leading circle and planning activities when the Program director is absent due to illness and /or vacation.

**Requirements**:
Early Childhood Education Certification (1 year or 5 years)
A Clear Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check
First Aid Certification with CPR-C and AED
Love for Jesus and attending a church
Love for children and a passion for teaching
Flexibility in working with children, other educators, and the Program Director
Teachability and ability to learn from co-workers
