Heritage Gas is seeking a **Technician, CAD** to join our Engineering Group. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering & Construction, the Technician, CAD will be responsible for the following:

- Create digital Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings in compliance with Heritage Gas standards, including construction drawings, schematics, diagrams, layouts, general arrangements, charts, graphs, property sketches, and standard drawings to support the company's capital and operating programs.
- Complete field reconnaissance to assist with pipeline route selection, base map compilation, and final design drawing accuracy verification.
- Maintain the company's digital drawing database, including creating and updating digital as-built record drawings.
- Update and issue facility maps, system overviews, and system isolation.

The position is based in Dartmouth but may require occasional work throughout the entire Heritage Gas franchise area. A valid Class 5 Drivers license is required with a clean driver's abstract.

As a qualified applicant, you have a minimum of five (5) years in consulting or private industry with extensive knowledge of computer-aided design in both 2D and 3D environments. You hold a diploma from a two-year post-secondary education institution in Engineering related or Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist from a recognized institution or equivalent diploma. You possess a high-level of CAD skills acquired through working knowledge of the latest version of AutoCAD or equivalent, strong mechanical and civil engineering aptitude, and an understanding of GIS, including GPS zoning, coordinate referencing, and survey software. Previous experience in the natural gas industry would be considered an asset.
