**About the role**:
**You will contribute by**:

- Reviewing content prior to publication online to ensure it meets the Global News mission, aligns with CP style, and accords with journalism standards.
- Ensuring stories are prepared with best practices for SEO to boost audience reach.
- Prioritizing editing projects to ensure efficient turnaround.
- Mentoring newer journalists
- Working supportively and collaboratively with journalists of all levels of experience
- Developing and delivering training in journalism skills

**Skills and experience you will bring**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in journalism or a related field
- At least five years of experience working in an online newsroom.
- Strong knowledge of libel law and other legal issues
- Expert knowledge of CP Style
- Strong grasp of WordPress VIP and familiarity with other content management systems
- Strong news judgment
- Thorough understanding of SEO
- Passion for multi-platform journalism
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.
- Motivated, self-starter, independent, results-oriented and professional
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to innovate, explore new ideas and acquire new skills.
- Drive, determination, attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
