**COMPETITION NUMBER: 1027** **FACULTY OF RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC INNOVATION** NorQuest College is collaborating with the University of Sussex on a research project titled "Building 'Common' Wealth through Just Transitions: The Role of Anchor Institutions in Supporting Community-Led Decarbonisation in Canada and the UK." This interdisciplinary research project aims to explore how Community Wealth Building (CWB) can drive just transitions to green economies in Canada and the UK, with a focus on the role of anchor institutions—large public organizations deeply rooted in local economies. By leveraging literature reviews, stakeholder engagement, workshops, and data analysis, we are working towards developing actionable insights that link community wealth building and equitable energy transitions. The project is funded by an international research grant and runs from 2024 to 2026. **HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**: - Support or conduct in-depth literature reviews on community wealth building, just transitions, and decarbonisation strategies. - Assist in developing networks with key stakeholders, including community organizations and local governments in Canada and the UK. - Organize logistics and prepare materials for workshops on community energy and wealth building. - Manage qualitative data from interviews and workshops, including coding and analysis. - Assist with drafting research briefs, articles, and policy reports. - Assist in preparing and managing ethics protocols in line with institutional and regulatory guidelines. - Provide administrative and logístical assistance as needed by the project team. - Attend and contribute to relevant project meetings. - Carry out additional duties as required by the Principal Investigator or Project Team. - Conduct research in line with the project objectives under the guidance research leads. - Assist in preparing, setting up, conducting, and recording research outcomes. - Manage and analyze data, preparing written reports and summaries as needed. - Contribute to the preparation of academic journal articles, as part of professional development. **WHAT YOU BRING**: - Experience in research, ideally related to sustainability, community development, or energy transitions. Familiarity with the concept of Community Wealth Building is an asset. - Strong data management, organizational skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Experience with qualitative research methods is preferred. - Technical Proficiency: Experience with data collection and analysis tools is advantageous **SALARY**: This is a part-time casual position (5-10 hours/week) with an hourly rate of $26.06-$28.95 per hour, depending on education and experience. The start date is negotiable (preferably ASAP) until December 31, 2025. We offer flexible work options.
