Job Summary:
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs and resources required for electrical projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This role involves interpreting electrical drawings, analyzing tender documents, and preparing competitive bids in accordance with provincial regulations and standards (including the Ontario Electrical Safety Code).

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and interpret electrical plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Conduct quantity take-offs using estimating software (e.g., Accubid, PlanSwift).
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather pricing and technical data.
- Evaluate bid proposals and tender submissions in compliance with project scopes.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Track and maintain up-to-date unit pricing and cost databases.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
- Ensure all estimates comply with Ontario Building Codes, ESA regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Assist in preparing and submitting final tenders or proposals to clients.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Estimating, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of estimating experience in electrical contracting.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and construction methods.
- Familiarity with Ontario construction and electrical regulations.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Bluebeam, and estimating software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously
