**Job Summary**

Coordinate local P&D traffic for Overland West Freight Lines Ltd.

**Work Schedule**:
Monday to Friday; 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

**Essential Functions**:

- As part of the operations team, establish, modify and execute nightly dispatch plan.
- Update trip sheets & records in the dispatch system, ensuring the accuracy of miles paid and log hours.
- Day to day communication, via phone and ELD, with drivers to ensure proper load instructions are passed along and carried out.
- Communicate with cartage to ensure they meet inbound cut times.
- Manage breakdown situations and follow up with maintenance to ensure that freight is moved through to destination as quickly as possible.
- Monitor all outbound cut-off times to protect service.
- Monitor driver performance.
- Enlist and coordinate third party carriers to move overflow loads in a cost-efficient manner.
- Track driver vacation schedules and keep information current
- Experience in dispatch in the logistics and transportation industry considered an asset
- Familiar with operations related to Long Combination Vehicles (LCV)
- Strong organizational skills, planning skills, and multitasking ability
- A customer service mindset and excellent communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
