Science World is a mission-based, charitable organization that supports the development of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design and Math) literacy across British Columbia. Our mission is **_to ignite wonder and empower dreams through science and nature_** and our purpose is **_Science for All. _**
We are in a new 5-year strategy to revitalize Science World with a substantial capital plan to replace critical infrastructure, enhance the visitor experience and develop new content across all our channels under the themes of _Regeneration of the Planet, Human Health, and Inclusion. _Our plan is to ensure that people throughout British Columbia, especially under-represented communities, have access to high quality, informal STEAM learning. Through our onsite, online and outreach programs, Science World seeks to spark curiosity and wonder in STEAM and support development of talent across communities in the province.

**Position Description**
**Responsibilities**
- In partnership with the VP and Creative Director, work with internal and external partners to develop clear, consistent, and creative brand messaging to promote Science World’s initiatives, drive brand recognition and awareness, and connect with new and established audiences across various marketing channels
- Commission and manage external service providers including for digital and traditional advertising, and PR. Act as the lead for overseeing public relations activities
- Work in collaboration with the VP, Creative Director and Store Manager, to attract new customers, drive conversion and build lasting relationships through an integrated and playful ecommerce experience
- Contribute to creation/execution of a membership strategy to engage existing/new members, drive visits to Science World and scienceworld.ca, increase engagement in events and programs, and inspire membership loyalty (renewals)
- Work in a highly collaborative fashion with internal and external partners on cross-functional initiatives that support Science World’s strategic plan and organizational priorities
- Lead, coach and develop the Marketing team to deliver high-quality work, and undertake own continuing professional development. Conduct resourcing/job evaluations and recruitment activities as required
- Develop and implement methodologies and processes to efficiently and effectively manage the Marketing team’s plans, budget and workload, including ensuring clear accountability across the team
- Set the standard for high quality data management, ensure current systems are maintained and continuously improved, and identify, evaluate, and drive opportunities to secure future investments in marketing technology
- Advise Science World leaders regarding policies, processes, guidelines and best practices related to marketing and PR
**Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum seven (7) years of recent, related and progressively responsible marketing experience and related management experience, including accountability for staff supervision
- Proven experience of creation and deployment of traditional, digital and online marketing strategies
- Experience in coaching, developing, leading and managing marketing and content teams and budgets
- Experience commissioning, contracting and managing external service providers to deliver marketing campaigns
- Work experience within a science centre, museum, attraction, science communication, or education industry would be an asset
- Perform other related duties as required to fulfill any changing business needs of this role
