**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
The Cleaner Labourer maintains the general cleanliness of a public TRCA site or facility. The Cleaner Labourer is responsible for ensuring a standard of cleanliness of TRCA facilities for visitors and guests. The Cleaner Labourer responds to cleaning calls during operating hours to ensure cleanliness and supports the requirements of any deadlines for general operations or events.
**Major Responsibilities**:
**Perform the following tasks under general supervision**:
- Carry out ongoing cleaning of the facility or site, including but not limited to:
a. Garbage collection and disposal, including from outdoor garbage receptacles.
b. Dusting of high traffic areas and high touch items.
c. Cleaning of washrooms.
d. Wiping down of high traffic public areas and office areas.
e. Responding to cleaning calls.
- Cleaning of site artifacts and equipment ensuring sensitivity to artifacts is maintained (location specific).
- Conduct cleaning responsibilities following events or meetings at the site or facility. Set up and tear down of meeting rooms.
- Identify and report any health and safety issues, following all related safety protocols.
- Maintain and complete accurate records as required, including but not limited to inspection and maintenance records for cleaning.
- Required to lift or carry objects that could weigh up to 50 and pull carts that can weigh 70 lbs. pounds.
**What will you need to succeed**:
- High School Diploma is considered an asset.
- Minimum one-year experience in cleaning and housekeeping.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meat deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to take direction and work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to be active for long periods of time.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety practices and procedures.
