**Job Description**:
The Events Coordinator is primarily involved in the animation and coordination of events, entertainment and groups, including summer and winter events while providing support to sales efforts and guest experience as needed to create meaningful and engaging animation, both during peak and off peak season. The Events Coordinator follows the event or group from its conception and works with all departments to determine any food and beverage, A/V, set up, lift ticket, rental, activity, or other needs the event/group may have. The Events Coordinator helps each department attend to the event/group and works as the intermediary between the two.
**Responsibilities**:
- Brand Ambassador for Sasquatch Mountain Resort on mountain and within the community
- Assist in the development and promotion of new programs, initiatives and events for both winter and summer operations - planning, set up, event execution and teardown of on-going, weekly family activities and signature events
- Work with marketing department and generate increased attendance at each of these events.
- Be on site and available where needed during event days and group visits
- Coordinate between all departments to create the best and most cohesive experience for groups
- Facilitate client activities on-site, off-site, and on-mountain in uniform and on skis/snowboard
- Be the liaison and point of contact between groups and Solitude
- Work with F&B managers to create & print menus
- Arrange and host site tours, including on-mountain, venues, and lodging properties
- Create event orders, diagrams, and banquet
- Instruct business groups on A/V equipment use
- Supervise and assist with all event setup and take down
- Resolve problems that arise while the group is on-site
- Provide client prospecting and research
- Attend trade shows as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Qualifications:
- Outstanding work ethic and positive attitude. The Coordinator must be willing to work odd hours, do manual labor (event planning requires a lot of hands-on, physical work including site set-up/take-down, taking supplies to/from storage facilities, etc.) and work through the elements (events go on - rain or shine - or snow).
- Ability to prioritize and follow-through. It is important to be able to prioritize projects, ask for direction when needed and follow through on the completion of tasks.
- Self-motivated/Self-sufficient. The Coordinator will be expected to take on a lot of responsibility and work independently without supervision.
- Good teamwork skills. Although the Coordinator will be expected to work on their own for much of the time, they will also constantly be interacting with the rest of the event team members and other members of other departments.
- Excellent organization skills. Being detail oriented and very organized is essential to the success of any event. Our events are very multifaceted, and the event organizers must have every aspect planned well in advance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.The ability to gather the necessary information in order to make decisions is a very important trait for the Coordinator to have.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Willingness to learn and develop skills as the department develops and grows.
- Social media savy
- Intermediate or advanced ski or snowboard ability and valid driver’s license required
