Skills and Attributes
- Must have solid experience in the plumbing trade and be able to run a crew of up to 15 and/or several jobs at a time.
- Must be willing to work alongside apprentices and be able to train and motivate a crew in a leadership capacity.
- Must understand the importance of handling paperwork and be able to follow company procedures.
- Must be able to represent the company on larger projects and be professional in site meetings.
- Must have a keen understanding of larger mechanical installations and hydronic systems.
- Must have experience in multi-residential/commercial industry.
- Is able to install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
- Is able to read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
- Is able to locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
- Is able to cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
- Must understand what can and cannot be cut in a 6 storey wood frame building.
- Is able to join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
- Is very well versed at testing pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
- Is able to estimate costs and materials
- Is able to maintain and repair water well pumps, piping systems and equipment
- Is able to determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
- Experienced at measuring, cutting, threading and bending pipes to required shape and size
- Must have experience with water distribution products such as: CPVC aquarise, copper, pex crimp, pex cold expansion and stainless steel grooved.
- Mechanical room experience - required. Must know how to install mechanical rooms to working order. (ie. Tanks, boilers and pumps)
- Must have the ability and experience to work in underground pipe install situations - experience required
- Must have the ability to work with excavators for pipe installations
- Must have competence in the startup and closeout procedures of a large scale projects.

Pay: $37.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
