Costing Analyst

**Reporting**

This position reports to the Plant Controller.

**Specific Accountabilities**
- Working with the Finance Team to support the financial reporting process.
- Support the annual audit process.
- Prepare analysis in the annual physical inventory process.
- Analyze monthly operating results, as productivity and deviations from forecast, and participate in recommendations to correct ongoing issues.
- Support the annual budgeting process in updating OH rates and Materials Cost and validate with senior leaders in the plant.
- Determine standard costs and investigate variances with actual cost
- Performs the tracking, analyzing, and reconciling of Purchase Price Variances to support the Month End financial close process.
- Ensure that costing systems are accurate and current.
- Assist and inform management decision making on cost standards
- Support weekly plant KPIs and reports with analyze of deviations.
- Prepare detailed reports, both periodically and ad-hoc
- Other duties as assigned.

**Position Requirements and Qualifications**
- Education Required: _
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- A recognized professional accounting designation or actively pursuing is an asset.
- Experience Required: _
- A minimum of 3 years related work experience in manufacturing environment.
- Experience working cross functionally within an organization.
- Skills Required: _
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Confident, strong communication skills, professional, demonstrated high degree of integrity
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Experience with ERP systems

**Working Conditions**

Work performed in an office and manufacturing environment. The Agrisolutions Hamilton facility is unionized and employs approximately 110 plant employees.

While performing the duties of this job, the role may require visits and walk throughs of the production plant. While in the production plant the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
