**About the Role**

We’re looking for an **experienced reptile keeper or animal handler** who can confidently care for and educate guests about our collection of reptiles and amphibians.
As a **Mystik Animal Ambassador**, you’ll help maintain our animals’ health and habitats, lead guest encounters, and ensure that every experience aligns with our standards of safety, compassion, and education.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Handle and care for reptiles and amphibians — including daily feeding, misting, lighting, and temperature monitoring.
- Maintain terrarium hygiene and ensure enclosures meet species-specific needs.
- Monitor animal behavior and report health or stress concerns promptly.
- Engage guests in small-group interactions and educational talks.
- Oversee safe, supervised guest handling sessions (where permitted).
- Uphold Mystik Café’s standards of animal welfare and guest experience.

**Who You Are**
- **Experienced**: You have at least **1-2 years of reptile husbandry experience** (in a zoo, pet shop, rescue, or private collection).
- **Knowledgeable**: You understand heating, humidity, lighting, feeding, and enrichment for species such as snakes, lizards, geckos, and amphibians.
- **Calm & Professional**: You handle animals confidently and speak clearly when educating guests.
- **Detail-Oriented**: You notice subtle behavioral or environmental changes and act proactively.
- **Compassionate**: You care deeply about reptile welfare and approach each interaction with respect.

**Preferred Backgrounds**
- Previous work in reptile rescues, exotic pet stores, zoological facilities, or educational outreach programs.
- Knowledge of Canadian regulations on exotic animals (a plus).
- Ability to assist with enclosure design and species enrichment ideas.
