**Position Overview**:
We’re seeking a creative Mental Health and Wellbeing professional who will play a critical role in fostering a campus community that promotes positive mental health, wellbeing and belonging, as well as the operational leadership of the mental health and well-being team. Ensuring successful implementation of activities to support student flourishing is core to this role, in addition to leading the curation of a supportive, trauma-informed college community that fosters student belonging, resilience, connection, and encourages help-seeking behaviors. **Key Responsibilities**:
**Departmental Leadership**
- Responsible for the supervisory responsibilities of the well-being team, including mental health and well-being staff and non-teaching faculty Counsellors
- Managing and coaching clinical staff, developing and maintaining processes to provide professional clinical support to counsellors, as well as oversight of mental health programming and crisis response
- Lead team in the development of a vast array of diverse resources and programming that supports student mental health and well-being, enhances mental health awareness and promotes mental health literacy.
- Responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of a wide range of data-informed wellbeing services and initiatives
- Coordinates culturally responsive and inclusive operations and programming to support student belonging and enhance access and equitable student outcomes
- Lead the development, implementation, evaluation and annual review/renewal of the Mental Health and Well-being plan, including a comprehensive stepped care model of student well-being resources, support and services.
- Designs and implements evidence-based, high-impact educational programs and activities, to foster student well-being, self-awareness, and resiliency within the student community (topics may include loneliness, stress and anxiety; healthy relationships, suicidality, consent and sexual violence, and cultivation of personalized self-care practices).
- Responsible for managing the mental health budget(s), as well as any special funding/grant budgets.
- Collaborate with peers, and Executive Director, Student Success to research, write and submit grant proposals for funding opportunities to create projects that support/improve or increase our knowledge of student mental health.
**Complex Case Management**
- Chair the College’s Student of Concern committee and coordinate complex mental health case management for students requiring a coordinated approach to care
- Liaising with other service providers and internal departments to facilitate student’s connection to support
- Serve as a contact point for external constituents (parents, as well as hospital personnel and other community resources) with respect to student case load to mobilize support and address students’ needs.
- Developing partnerships to coordinate transitions to community mental health services/resources, specialized treatment programs, crisis intervention supports, hospitalizations and discharge planning.
- Responsible for leadership of the college’s tragic events response team (traumatic events response process) in collaboration with Student Success and Campus Safety Services
- Works closely with Manager of Advising, strategic leadership, Registrar’s Office and academic leadership to support complex student mental health challenges/crisis requiring accessibility accommodations
**Community Relationships**
- Provide expertise to academic areas, student services and college committees to create a trauma-informed environment that supports student flourishing.
