Summary:
As a member of the leadership team you will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for the maintenance functions of our Burlington, ON plant. Manage maintenance activities including but not limited to, calibration, maintenance and operation of production equipment, tooling, and software. Procurement and installation of new production equipment and supporting equipment. Production process monitoring, review, and SPC analysis. Heavy interaction with other departments is required to coordinate the above activities in order to minimize costs and equipment downtime while maintaining a high standard of quality and ensuring adequate production capacity to meet required deliveries.

Major Responsibilities:

- Manage all new production equipment design, procurement and installation
- Manage the design and procurement of production tooling
- Manage all facility maintenance and upgrades
- Manage the development of procedures and work instructions and provide relevant training for operators and technicians
- Manage equipment calibration and preventive maintenance activities to ensure compliance with applicable specifications
- Manage production process monitoring, review, analysis, and modification in order to effectively target maintenance activities, minimize equipment downtime, and optimize processing costs
- Provide capital equipment cost and operating cost information to help evaluate new technologies and/or business opportunities for the company
- Education - College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred; high school or equivalent plus 5 years industrial maintenance experience required
- Hands on experience of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Familiarity with a variety of software tools ( Excel, Access, Word, SPC software, Nitreg)
- Experience in the heat treating industry would be an asset
- Must possess the skills to effectively supervise and direct the work of maintenance department employees.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF16949 Quality Management Systems would be an asset
- Must have general knowledge of hydraulics and furnaces and be able to read and interpret blueprints
