We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated Recreation Aide to join our Long-Term Care team, supporting our Memory Care Unit.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and delivering recreational programs tailored to the interests and abilities of residents in long-term care.
- Encourage participation and promote social interaction and physical activity.
- Set up and tidy activity spaces and equipment before and after programs.
- Supervise and support residents during activities, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Work collaboratively with the care team to support individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of participation and resident observations.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to resident needs during programs.
**Education Requirement**:
- Certificate or qualification in Recreation or Social Work.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience in recreation or social services, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage seniors and individuals with cognitive impairments.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be available to work day shifts and weekends.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Successful completion of a Police Check.
- Up-to-date Tuberculosis (TB) testing.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist residents as needed during activities.
- Capability to lift and move recreation equipment safely.
