The District of West Vancouver Community Services Department has openings for casual Program Leader - Community Dances. Under the supervision of the Youth Services Program Coordinator, the Program Leader will assist with the provision and supervision of community dances for preteens in grades 6 and 7 at various times over the school year. The Program Leader will be responsible for:

- setting up for, and cleaning up after, the events
- checking preteens in for the event and assisting them with putting on their wristbands for entry
- providing supervision of all areas of the facility during the events (including on and off the dance floor, inside and outside of the facility, etc.)
- monitoring youth volunteers including overseeing a youth volunteer-run concession program and handling low value cash transactions;
- establishing and maintaining effective relationships with youth and acting as a positive role model;
- enforcing dance rules and regulations;
- monitoring and reporting out on facility and equipment safety, security and maintenance requirements;
- working collaboratively with all Youth Services staff and attending staff meetings and in-services;
- performing other related work as required.

Non-Union - Casual

Hours of Work:
Hours and days of work may vary. Must be available for Friday afternoon and evening shifts beginning at 5 p.m. at the Gleneagles Community Centre.

Starting Rate of Pay:
$20 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits
