Areas of focus for this position may include a combination of analysis of survey data, administrative data and clinical data. The work will span across various sectors, including primary care, long-term care, and hospital care. The Analyst will also contribute to other work - e.g., indicator selection, strategic projects, and providing feedback to the report writing team. The areas of focus may change over time, as determined by the needs of the organization and the skills and preferences of the individual
- The Analyst will also have strong organization skills to ensure that assigned tasks are completed on a timely basis.

Here is what you will be doing:
Overall- Contributes to analytics and reporting within the Health System Performance and Support Portfolio. This includes system and sector reports, patient experience measurement and supporting performance measurement methodologies to enable the capture of relevant and meaningful health system information.- Analysis- Conducts quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of clinical, administrative or survey data to support the development of reports and studies.-
- Conducts specific ad hoc requests for analysis (e.g., annual updates to analysis/indicators) and completes exploration of data for indicator development.-
- Prepares analysis summaries and assists with the preparation of documents and presentation materials describing analytic methods.-
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of reported data, figures, and tables.-
- Responsible for the maintenance of up-to-date documentation on a subset of quality indicators used by HSPS indicators including technical specifications, review results and analytic methodologies.- Support- Provides project support, assisting with data and analysis quality assurance process, and fact checking activities.-
- Maintains and develops website content and documentation-
- Assists with the preparation of technical notes/definitions, drafting written text for reports or analytic projects within agreed outlines.-
- Conducts environmental scans of indicators/measurement frameworks to support work related to health systems and performance measurement and other relevant areas.-
- Identifying data elements, datasets, analytical methods, data communication and visualization approaches to answer questions and communicate key information to decision-makers-
- Developing new analyses, methods and approaches-
- Assists with indicator review, prioritization and development.- Relationship Management- Develops relationships with colleagues within team and across the organization to understand business/operations activities and research needs, share information and provide assistance in understanding analytical results.-
- Manages relationships with stakeholders to ensure assigned project deliverables are clarified, understood and effectively managed.-
- Builds relationships with industry colleagues to remain current on industry best practices and trends.- Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- University degree in Health Administration, Health Information Management, Information Technology program, epidemiology, the social or health sciences, biostatistics, or another relevant discipline or equivalent is preferred-
- 1-year experience using SAS (or other statistical software) for analyses, database development and/or reporting and strong knowledge/experience with MS Excel-
- 3 years’ experience in health services research, health system performance and/or community care or population health or 2 years of experience with administrative and/ or clinical data in the Ontario setting is preferredKnowledge and Skills- Creativity - a novel thinker who enjoys generating and exploring innovative ideas and solutions.-
- Attention to detail - to ensure accuracy and avoid gaffes.-
