**Laboratory Technician A - Inorganics/Environmental**

**Summary**:
AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for a **Laboratory Technician A **to join our **Inorganics/Environmental working out of our** **Dartmouth, NS** facility. This position is the third level position into the laboratory. This position is given direction from the Laboratory Supervisor. The Laboratory Technician A is able to work independently on laboratory activities and is responsible for maintaining some of the instruments being used in the lab.

This is a** permanent, Full-Time position **and the schedule is **Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM**.

**Duties**:

- Perform sample, reagent and calibration preparation as directed
- Calibrate, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance on all assigned instruments
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
- Meet quality assurance and turnaround specifications
- Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
- Report results
- Other duties assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Technical Diploma or degree in Science required (Bachelor of Science)
- 3+ years laboratory experience
- Able to operate, troubleshoot and maintain analytical instruments
- Knowledge of full laboratory processes
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and fluency in English both verbal and written
- Hand-Eye coordination and attention to detail and multitasking abilities are required
- Mature work ethic, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment

**Work Environment**:This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
