We’re on the hunt for an **Intermediate Technician - Chemical Lab **on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

**Role**:
This is an intermediate level position. Under the leadership of more experienced technicians or members of technical staff, perform chemical analysis of various finishing solutions and entering aerospace polymers to verify if they comply with laboratory and quality control written specifications. Support the chemist in charge during the improvement process in order to enhance quality and productivity.

**Work Performed**:
1. Becomes aware of laboratory control procedures and production schedules. Prepares plating solution samples for analysis, according to production volumes or schedules.
2. Performs required analysis with quantitative, humid, chemical, gravimetric or spectroscopic techniques.
3. Monitors and chemically adjusts electrolytic solutions according to production requirements. Makes minor chemical corrections to plating solutions.
4. Prepares analytic reactants and representative samples.
5. Cleans and stores equipment and chemical products.
6. Fills out purchasing requests for flight polymeric material. Labels entering polymeric material. Checks analytic parameters for tests, according to process and goods purchasing specifications.
7. Supports the chemist in charge for the conduct and control of polymeric material inventory, including the duration of storage and tests in order to extend the storage duration, if applicable.
8. Prepares polymeric samples for analysis. Where required, performs mechanical tests on representative samples.
9. Performs required analysis, records results, presents data to the chemist in charge for verification and approval.
10. Prepares polymers intended for manufacturing and accompanying samples.
11. Supports the chemist in charge and suggests ways to improve performance, facilities and equipment in order to reduce costs and schedules.
12. Supports the chemist in charge or the Program manager for the control and reports on costs and schedules related to large volume production.

**Education**: DEC in chemistry

**Experience**: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience

**Linguistic proficiency**: Fluent in French and English
