**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Purchasing Manager to lead the implementation and refinement of our purchasing policy. As the Purchasing Manager at Terus Construction, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless procurement processes, timely delivery of materials, cost optimization, and building strong and sustainable supplier relationships.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Purchasing Policy Development: Refinement of our existing purchasing policy ensuring it is aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring adherence to ethical practices and compliance with relevant regulations and Corporate Policies.
- Supplier Management: Identify and onboard reliable suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and maintaining strong partnerships to secure the best quality materials and services.
- Cost Optimization: Work closely with project teams to optimize costs while ensuring materials' quality and timely availability.
- Streamlined Procurement Processes: Implement efficient procurement processes, utilizing technology and data analytics to improve overall effectiveness and reduce lead times.
- Purchase order management:
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks to minimize disruptions and maintain project timelines.
- Performance Monitoring: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on the purchasing function's performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for employees across departments to raise awareness of the purchasing policy and best practices.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated with market trends, industry developments, and innovative solutions to capitalize on new opportunities and achieve competitive advantage.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager in a high-volume environment, with a track record of policy development and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services sourcing.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
- Extensive use of ERP systems that may include JD Edwards and Microsoft suite of products.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to drive data-based decisions and cost optimization.
- Effective communication skills to inspire and promote policy compliance throughout the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving.
