**Kitchen & General Cleaning Support** at iKids Montessori Academy play an important role in providing nutritious meals and maintaining a high-quality kitchen environment. Working independently, the **Kitchen **staff will ensure that all Health & Safety standards are met and maintained as well as meeting the needs of children for mealtimes. Must have up to date Food Safe Handling certification.

**Job Duties**

As a **Kitchen & General Cleaning Support**, you will perform some or all of the following duties during your employment with iKids Montessori Academy:

- Knowledgeable with all health regulations governing food safety within an early learning environment
- Preparation of Morning and Afternoon snacks for all classrooms
- Serve Lunch provided by catering company
- Check and record food temperatures in Food Temp log upon delivery and prior to serving hot lunches
- Organize dishware to meet the number of children in each classroom for mealtimes
- Accommodate children with Allergies or Food Restrictions with alternative substitutes when needed
- Unpack and properly store all food and consumables
- Ensure all food is labelled with an iKids centre label including expiration date
- Conduct housekeeping tasks to maintain the kitchen including mopping, wiping down counters, cleaning the refrigerator, changing garbage
- Removing any food or consumables that are past their expiration date
- Wash and sanitize all dishware used by classrooms for each meal
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with families and co-workers
- Complete all forms and classroom checklists as required
- Perform any classroom CLOSING duties that may include sweeping and mopping as well as sanitizing washroom countertops, tabletops, toys, & changing garbages
- Maintain positive and open communication when interacting with all parents and professionals at iKids
- Acknowledge and comply with all centre policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All employees are required to wear a mask while working with children, daily cleaning and disinfecting practices, air purifiers in classrooms, following all guidelines by Ministry of Education and York Region Public Health unit

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Richmond Hill, ON L4E 1H6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Food handling: 1 year (preferred)
