The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the packing, casing, and palletization of product being prepared for shipping out of the warehouse facilities. We are looking for individuals who are detail orientated, focused and efficient in the tasks they carry out. This position will be responsible for any palletized or packaged outbound freight, ensuring adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure packaging shipping deadlines are consistently met; work in the warehouse shipping production line with consistent speed and accuracy
- Read work orders or receive oral instruction for work assignments
- Maintain storage areas and carry out general duties
- Communicate all delays or variances in outbound orders to the appropriate parties
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and excise stamps
- Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment
- Being able to lift to 20 kg
- Being able to stand, walk and move around for long periods
- May participate in shipping and receiving duties as required
- Activities such as counting, excising product, sorting, packing and unpacking
- Identify discrepancies between inventory records and communicate this to the Leaders
- Stacking and disassembling items up to 5 feet in height
- Other duties as required
- Palletizing and hand wrapping pallets
WHAT YOU BRING:
- High School diploma: Warehouse or Supply Chain certifications would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of operations, production, warehouse management, and transportation management would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of WHMIS and other safety systems
- Knowledge of warehouse documentation, with good writing skills
- Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
- 1+ years of direct work experience in an operational, production, or warehouse positions
- (Nice to have) Experience with radio frequency ID systems (RFID), bar code systems, and electronic data interchange (EDI) would be beneficial
- (Nice to have) Familiarity with enterprise-level track-and-trace systems
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
