KitchenerWaterloo, Canada Project READ Literacy Network Waterloo-Wellington Full time

**Job Duration**: 14 weeks at 35 hr/wk

**Rate of Pay**: $18.20/hr

**Start date**: May 26, 2025

**Duties**:

- Develop and plan family literacy programming in Waterloo Regional parks
- Ride the Project READ Literacy bike and trailer (250 lbs) to local parks
- Deliver Literacy bike programming Monday through Thursday (and some weekends)
- Develop and implement social media promotions of the literacy bike events
- Document all Literacy Bike programming and activities for future use (building upon Literacy Bike programming activities and reports from 2021 to 2024)

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- interested in working with parents and children to promote learning
- ability to ride a bicycle
- understands the importance of literacy in work, learning and life
- knowledge/success in using social media
- solid experience working with Google products (Calendars, Virtual Meetings, Docs, Forms, etc)
- well-organized with excellent planning skills
- works well independently and on a team
- creative skills
- excellent communication skills
- ability to “go with the flow” and pivot when needed
- likes to have fun

**Limitations**:
This is a supplemented Canada Summer Job through Employment and Social Development Canada.

All applicants must be:

- between the ages of 15 and 35 at the start of employment.
- a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*.
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations. (International students are not eligible)

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 14 weeks

Pay: $18.20 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
