With the impressive views of downtown Victoria from our 18th floor, along with an extraordinary menu, it's a great time to consider Vista 18 and the Chateau Victoria to be your next employer. **We are looking for an experienced server who can work 3-4 evening shifts per week, including weekends and holidays.** **We offer**: - A free meal per shift - Comprehensive benefits package (based on hours worked) including a union pension plan - Recognition programs - birthday, holidays and work milestone recognitions - Employee, Friends & Family hotel discount - Vista 18 and Clive’s Classic Lounge employee discount ~ 50% - Other Industry discounts - Employee events ~ Holiday and employee appreciation celebrations - Learning and development opportunities - Bike storage facilities, onsite parking and discounted bus pass with BC Transit - ProPASS **Main Responsibilities**: - Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests. - Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders accurately in POS system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar. - Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner. - Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests. - Prepare final bill ensuring its accuracy, present check to guest, enter and accept correct payment, process credit/debit/gift card charges accurately or make change if applicable. - Accurately complete server cash-out at the end of service shift. - Following established procedures and policies when completing tasks. - Be an Ambassador for the Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites and Vista 18. **Qualifications**: - Must have a valid Serving it Right (or equivalent) certificate - Must possess exceptional customer service skills and professionalism - Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Proven communications skills and ability to work positively in a team environment and respond well to direction. - Proven cash handling experience - Ability to complete shifts that include frequent standing, walking, bending and lifting. - Previous food and beverage service experience necessary. - Strong base in liquor, beer, wine and food knowledge an asset. **This job has physical requirements**: Constant standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs. Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
