Key responsibilities will include: - Being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the products traded by TSG’s Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange Trading team. - Providing trade execution support to Global Wealth Management (GWM) businesses **Major Accountabilities**: **Trade Execution** - Provide trade execution services and market insights to GWM businesses. - Champion a customer focused culture by developing and maintaining strong relationships with Wealth Advisors and other GWM businesses. - Educate Wealth Advisors and other GWM businesses on regulatory requirements, market best practices, internal compliance requirements and TSG procedures pertaining to trade executions. - Ensure the GWM business representatives we deal with understand the risks and possible outcomes when executing a transaction. **Risk Management** - Understands Scotiabank’s risk appetite and risk culture and can use the bank’s risk mitigation strategies and processes in day-to-day trading activities and decisions. - Ensures that he/she conducts themselves in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and Global Sales Principles. - Remains knowledgeable / up to date on all market and product, or regulatory requirements / changes. - Adhere to trading compliance requirements, internal / external guidelines, rules, and regulations by: - Ensuring all business is conducted within internal and external guidelines, rules, and regulations. - Identifying control gaps in trading operations and recommending changes to mitigate operational risk. - Minimizing transactional or market risk exposure for the organization and/or clients. - Acting within all defined or implied trading rules and regulations. - Ensuring trades are completed within the regulatory and business rules of the underlying product. - Ensure trades are booked accurately, in a timely manner and within market convention while maintaining the highest level of focus on the trade details. - Address and document trading errors and once identified, escalate as appropriate. - Maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics as it pertains to the trading and managing accessibility of sensitive and confidential information. - Knowing and adhering to all regulatory requirements, compliance, and internal business policies and procedures. - Assist TSG Trading Supervision with responses to GWM Compliance in regards to ‘Fair Pricing’ queries, regulatory inquiries, issues, and escalations. **Education/Work Experience/Designations** - 5 - 10 years’ experience within the securities and/or banking industry, in a management role. - University degree in business, economics, engineering, or another related field. - Relevant industry courses including Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH). - Have working knowledge of technology used by TSG trading - Broadridge, Charles River, CBID, Bloomberg, MarketAxess and Bloomberg TOMS. - Previous experience working in a fast paced and dynamic trade floor environment. - Superior problem-solving skills and analytical thinking skills. - Ability to work autonomously combined with the ability to maintain close working relationships. - Superior interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate resolutions to disputes. - Expert understanding of electronic communication channels and how they play a role in client experience. - A high degree of judgment / organizational skills and initiative. **_ Other Qualifications_** - Highly motivated self-starter, strong initiative, results-oriented, seeks and accepts responsibility - Strong relationship building skills, team player.
