SNC-Lavalin Environment has one of the most experienced environmental engineering consulting teams in Canada and is currently seeking an experienced intermediate-level to career-level **Environmental Project Coordinator **to support our Western Canada Team.

You will play a key role as part of our Environmental Permitting and Management Team in developing, managing and executing work related to environmental management and permitting for pre‑construction and construction phase projects of varying sizes and scopes.

Day to day work will include multi-project coordination of environmental overview assessment, health and safety plans, environmental monitoring, plan development (Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Overview Assessment, Environmental Overview Records, Environmental Protection Plans or similar), communicating with clients and prime contractors, liaising with regulatory personnel, and mentoring junior/intermediate environmental professionals. Other technical responsibilities will include project coordination, cost estimation and tracking and report preparation.

The position will be based in either the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island (Nanaimo or Victoria), Terrace or the Okanagan (Kelowna). **Responsibilities**
- Act as a key resource and client contact for diverse set of environmental management and permitting projects;
- Plan, Prepare and review environmental protection and mitigation plans;
- Prepare, review technical reports associated with regulatory approvals or compliance requirements;
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates;
- Ensure technical quality of work including field methodology and review of client deliverables (proposals, reports and mapping);
- Mentor, provide guidance, training and direction to intermediate junior staff to ensure the completion of the project scope of work;
- Establish, maintain relationships, liaison with clients, First Nations, stakeholders and regulatory agencies to ensure project permitting is advanced;
- Periodic field work.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree or diploma in environmental science or related studies. Graduate level training is an asset.
- 3+ years’ experience focusing on environmental management or planning projects.
- Environmental monitoring experience.
- Previous consulting experience is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to write and/or review complex studies and reports.
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation and regulatory process (e.g., BCEAA, IAA, WSA, Fisheries Act, SARA, DAS or others).
- Demonstrable knowledge of environmental mitigation and protection planning measures.
- Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Recognized ability to work independently and succeed in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Proven knowledge of environmental permit, approval and compliance requirements.
