**Job Description**:
**We are recruiting for an Associate to join the Health Care investment team in AE-NA.**

The Active Equities North Americas Group within the Active Equities department invests in mid-large market capitalization public equities in North America. The strategy employs bottom-up and deep fundamental research insights to create a concentrated beta-neutral portfolio of high conviction long and short investments.

Reporting to the Managing Director of the respective teams, the Associates are responsible for conducting deep, bottom-up fundamental research on new investment ideas and current portfolio holdings. The position is based in Toronto.

**Position Requirements**

Role specific accountabilities include:

- Work directly with investment professionals on the respective teams to evaluate potential investment opportunities
- Prepare analytical investment reviews and recommendations in collaboration with their teams, including industry overviews, written investment memos and due diligence reviews
- Research, analyze and monitor macro level industry trends and fundamental performance of existing portfolio holdings
- Participate in meetings with company management teams, industry experts and analysts
- Increasingly incorporate added research insights by leveraging alternative data sets
- Collaborate with other Active Equities investment teams and other investment strategies in Active Equities global teams

**Qualifications**:
If you possess the following, we’d like to hear from you:

- A minimum of an undergraduate degree
- Have a deep passion and interest in investing
- Achieved high levels of academic performance and exhibit intellectual curiosity
- Strong research, analytical, financial modeling, valuation, technical and problem-solving skills; ability to think creatively
- Core technical skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Bloomberg, CapIQ
- Advanced technical skills an asset: Python, SQL, exposure to Big Data workflows and analytic tools (Spark/Databricks, etc.)
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Highly detail-oriented with an ability to produce high quality work
- Ability to prioritize work and simultaneously manage multiple responsibilities
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Keen interest in capital markets and the investment research process
