**Must be 25 years of age or older (insurance requirement), current Ontario “G” driver’s license, clean driving record for the past five years.** This position acts as a customer service rep with hotels and suppliers and therefore must present themselves with a clean, neat appearance with positive communication skills.

**Driving duties include**:

- You will drive a company owned vehicle
- Ability to drive a truck towing a 26’ trailer. Able to back up and park into loading docks and other sometimes space limited spaces.
- Drive on all types of roads and highways throughout Canada
- Ability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends as our show schedule requires
- Maintenance of vehicles, cleanliness, keep records etc.

**Setup duties include**:

- Setup typically takes two people no more than 3 hours to complete but is dependent on the room size, distance from the trailer to the room location and if an elevator is required to access our venue
- While we try to gain access to allow for setup upon our arrival, most of our contracts are written to provide us access by 4am at the latest for a weekend event since the venue may have a booking the night before and still have to prepare the room for us during the night.
- Loading/unloading of truck and trailer for Sales Events
- Set up the room for the sales which includes things like: creating a show layout on the spot and setting up pop up change rooms, check in counter, placing and spacing display racks, products and signage.
- Packing up the display items and loading them back into our trailer
- Communicate with other team members and review with sales team if layout improvement or other suggestions could lead to be better setup in the future.

As well, the driver may assist in other duties when not driving.
- Running Errands
- Pickup inventory from suppliers
- Help in the warehouse; Loading, Unloading, Sorting, Pricing and Hanging garments; repairing show display items or equipment; spot cleaning garments

**Physical requirements of the job**:

- Able to reach overhead 7’ (generally this means minimum height is about 5’10”)
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods of time - setup is all done standing
- Able to lift and carry minimum 80 lbs.
- Able to read English at grade 8 level or above
- Ability to drive a Truck towing a Trailer
- Able to go up and down ladders

**Sample Schedule**

The below schedule is a sample of an average show weekend. We generally do one weekend with just a Saturday & Sunday event and the following weekend will be 3 events. At 2 event weekend will have you home late Sunday. Only the 3 show weekend is displayed below. As a general guide, you will not work Tuesday - Thursday other than during the Extended Travel times listed in the section below.

A typical schedule will consist of the following with the driving hour’s variable by the actual city location and traffic:

- Friday - Drive to location A - 5 hours - Start no earlier than 7am and aim to arrive at the venue between 3 and 4pm_
- Friday - Unload and Setup - 3 hours - often we can setup the day prior but 4am is a possibility if the venue has an event happening the night prior_
- Saturday - Pack up and load display - 2 hours_
- Saturday - Drive to location B - 3 hours_
- Saturday - Unload and Setup - 3 hours -often we can setup the day prior but 4am is a possibility if the venue has an event happening the night prior_
- Sunday - Pack up and load display - 2 hours_
- Sunday - Drive to location B - 3 hours_
- Monday - Unload and Setup - 3 hours - setup is always 9:30am for a weekday event._
- Monday - Pack up and drive to home - Cambridge - 5 hours_

**EXTENDED TRAVEL - 2x per year**

Twice per year we operate requiring extended absence from home and a hectic work schedule. These weeks would include doing 3 - 4 events per week. Our Western Canada tour requires 5 weeks travel and Eastern Canada involves 2 weeks.. We provide an option to take a week off and pay to fly home during the Western Canada trip if you choose.

**Work Period**

Opportunity Bridal operates as a seasonal business with sales events happening from Mid-July to Early December (FALL) and January - June (Spring).

**Compensation**

This is a part time position that becomes full time for about 6 weeks before going back to part time. Our current sales season operates from mid July to early December and again from mid January to late June. We are off the week of Canadian Thanksgiving, Easter, 4 weeks over Christmas and New Years as well as about 4 weeks for the summer. As there is lots of time off we ask staff to refrain from asking for time off during the
