RecoverInHome is seeking a Mental Health and Addictions Worker for our sober living program. This role involves providing essential support, skills, and information to individuals transitioning out of treatment, enabling them to navigate daily life successfully. This position, requiring 48 hours per week (12-hour shifts) over the weekend, focuses on implementing prevention strategies, interventions, and aftercare referrals. The Mental Health and Addictions Worker will ensure follow-up services for individuals, families, and the community, specifically addressing mental health and addiction concerns. The Mental Health and Addictions Worker will deliver community-based mental health support, adhering to RecoverInHome's policies and procedures, emphasizing client and staff safety, quality improvement, and risk management. The program's focus will be on culturally relevant, home-based programming, aiming to cater to the holistic well-being of community members who may require professional mental health and addictions counseling. Key Responsibilities: - Offer "brief interventions" to clients requiring mental health counseling services. - Uphold structure, consistency, and effective follow-up on house rules and routines. - Utilize counseling skills such as problem-solving and de-escalation in both group and one-on-one settings. - Develop and implement home-based, culturally relevant mental health prevention and promotion programs. - Ensure a safe and accepting environment for all participants. - Perform additional duties as instructed by the Leadership team. **Requirements**: - Degree or diploma in a Human Services Field (e.g., Addictions & Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, etc.) - Current (6 months or newer) and Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Clearance. - Standard First Aid & CPR Training. - Valid Driver’s License and Clear Drivers Abstract, with $2 million liability coverage. - Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of diverse backgrounds and values. - Knowledge of family dynamics, addiction, domestic violence, and mental health disorders. - Non-judgmental attitude with strong personal boundaries. - Excellent writing and communication skills. - Flexibility to attend mandatory training. - Availability to work weekends with 12-hour overnight shifts. **Salary**: $23.00-$35.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Dental care - Paid time off Flexible Language Requirement: - French not required Schedule: - Evening shift - Monday to Friday - Morning shift - Night shift - On call - Overtime - Weekends as needed Ability to commute/relocate: - North York, ON M2N 4Y5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Experience**: - supportive care: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person
