**About the opportunity**:
We are looking for a hands-on experienced EMC/EMI Compliance and Test Specialist to support EMC/EMI testing for the projection, audio, video, display and ITE equipment and industry. You will be performing analysis, design, and test at the board level, prototype assembly, and system level product stages. You will also work closely with a varied number of teams such as electrical design, software, project management and compliance to create products that are compliant, reliable and safe.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain up to date test procedures, test plans, EMC test reports and maintain knowledge of EMC regulations and standards
- Proactively keep up to date on the latest EMC test methods and regulation changes
- Work with various product development teams to update test procedures and training as needed
- Must be able to work in a hands-on manner, to accomplish compliance and organizational objectives
- Troubleshoot test equipment issues, maintain internal validation and periodic verification of test equipment and the test facility such as maintaining integrity of shielded door, turn table and antenna mast mechanics
- Actively participate with the engineering design team in debugging EMC issues
- Set up and execute product testing at internal test facility as well as oversee at third-party test facility
- Work with calibration agencies to ensure test equipment is calibrated and fully functional
- Maintain detailed test instructions of troubleshooting steps and resolutions
- Support engineering and participate in design reviews to prevent EMC issues ahead of product final design
- Communicate progress and technical issues with electrical team lead and compliance management
- Participate in design and manufacturing reviews to prevent EMC problems ahead of product release

**Location**: fully onsite position based in Kitchener, ON

**The experience and skills we value**:

- University Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in EMC lab and testing capacity
- Hands on experience with EMC test automation software like TILE, EMC32, WIN 3000
- Experience with interpreting and following interconnect drawings, cable harness, and wiring schematic diagrams
- Experience performing measurements with the following equipment:

- EMI Receiver/Spectrum Analyzer
- Oscilloscope used for calibration of ESD gun
- Calibration of equipment used for transient immunity such as Surge, Fast Transient, Voltage Dip/Interruption, Harmonic and Flicker
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Motivated, thorough, critical thinker, and team player

**What will put you ahead**:

- Previous experience with ISO 17025 quality accreditation
- Writing test routines in EMC test software automation like TILE will be a definite asset to be successful in this role
- Excellent time management, project prioritization and capabilities with troubleshooting
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as part of the job in the lab
