**Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities**:
The Research Assistant will assist with research projects, with the overall objective of enhancing the department profile to support research efforts. As part of the team, the incumbent will be responsible for:
- Assist with conducting research studies
- Patient enrollment - including explanation of study and obtaining informed consent
- Data collection/entry
- Clinical trial registration and maintenance of updated information
- Specimen collection
- Liaison between research staff and study participants
- Maintenance of study adherence to ethics guidelines and protocol
- Progress reports for the PI and funding agencies
- Work with supervisors and students on study completion
- Basic data analysis, tables, and graphs
- Presentations
- Literature reviews
- Manuscript proofreading/drafting
- Reference management
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Bachelor of Science or similar health related discipline, at a minimum
- Lawson Health Science research qualifications
- Time will be provided to obtain module qualification as necessary
**Experience**:
- Experience in a research-intensive role with data analysis and manuscript preparation
- Familiarity with the process of clinical trials and experimental design
- Familiarity with the process of publication, paper review, etc.
Skills and Expertise
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, basic statistics software, reference manager)
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
- Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with associates and colleagues including senior management
- Flexible schedule is an asset as hours will coordinate with patient appointments
- Positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
