We are currently seeking a **Marketing Assistant** who’s ready to hit the ground running in our fast-paced, small-but-mighty marketing agency. This is a **hybrid position** starting at **25+ hours per week**, with potential for **full-time** in the immediate future. While most hours can be completed remotely and flexibly, we’ll require you to work in-person with us in Bowmanville for onboarding and some ongoing collaborative sessions. (Yes, our office is in our home—we don’t have a dog, but we _do_ have a young baby, so you’ll need to be comfortable with a little background noise and a laid-back, real-life work environment.)

While sitting on a beach in the Bahamas four years ago, the concept for Colada Marketing was born. At the time, both Kyle and I were working for separate marketing firms but had the shared realization: marketing agencies needed to be simpler. We wanted our clients to feel empowered—not overwhelmed—with cryptic reports and hidden costs. The pineapple in our logo? **WHO YOU ARE**
You’re passionate about building brands through great content—and you understand how strategy, data, and design work together to drive real results. You love to learn, you read marketing blogs for fun, and you’re the kind of person who notices when a CTA could convert better. You’re as comfortable writing Instagram captions as you are interpreting a traffic drop in Google Analytics.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
We’re a small agency, so you’ll get to wear multiple hats—but your core focus will be **content creation, strategy, and brand development**. You’ll also bring a strong **analytical mindset** to help us track what’s working and where to optimize.
Your day-to-day could include:
- Planning, drafting, and scheduling content across various platforms including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and GMB
- Writing engaging, SEO-optimized content—from social captions to landing pages to blog posts—that adapts across client voices and industries
- Supporting PPC campaigns (Google and Meta): writing ad copy, assisting with targeting, tracking results, and reporting on performance
- Maintaining and updating WordPress websites, including formatting pages, managing plugins, and publishing content
- Implementing SEO strategies: writing metadata, performing keyword research, and contributing to content audits
- Reviewing and interpreting website and campaign analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.) to understand user behavior, traffic flow, funnel performance, and lead conversions
- Helping optimize landing pages and content based on conversion data
- Monitoring and engaging with social media communities, managing online reviews, and participating in relevant online conversations
**WHAT YOU BRING**
- A degree in Journalism, Marketing, Arts, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience—we care more about your skills than your diploma)
- 5+ years of digital marketing experience, ideally in an agency or fast-paced setting
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to match tone and voice across industries
- A foundational understanding of digital analytics (Google Analytics, UTM tracking, etc.) and how to interpret data to drive content and campaign decisions
- Comfort with WordPress and basic web troubleshooting
- Familiarity with PPC platforms like Google Ads and Meta Business Suite
- Experience with SEO tools and techniques (metadata, keyword research, content strategy)
- Bonus: Basic graphic design experience with Canva or Adobe
